hey peeps i will be back in SG for 1 week in the mid july period, so im taking the liberty to organise a class outing. firstly lets finalise the dates, since im *aherms* the key person, i will choose a few dates 1st and seeing that jkyh has a pretty packed schedule in july too, these are the preferred dates:

16/07 Wednesday

settlers cafe (im hoping yh still has his membership)

personally i rather not have movies because knowing us all, im sure some of us will be late and thus not all will be able to make it for the movie timing.

hello ppl~

realli quite surprising to see a sudden "revival" from hibernation of this blog.. haha.. thx angie.. :) well due to (not popular but singular) demand, here i am with a post, albeit a realli short one...

i guess angie has alreadi summed up who is where and what's happening. and i dun tink i've caught up with more ppl than she has (angie = little miss happening). so i dun tink i'll kae kiang and update abt stuff she's alreadi mentioned :P... and angie... i tink some of them know and haf seen my gf alreadi... haha.. :P

i have nothing much to post but i tink i have come up with (perhaps) a new direction this blog can take. we all have moved on from JC and gone with our different paths, a couple of us even in a different country (haha)... so probably we can use this blog as a point where we can catch up with each other's lives...

we have been catching up with each other for the past 3+ years alreadi (*gasp*) and i guess this blog will be a good place for us to keep on catching up with each other as we carry on with our different paths in life... juz posting a few thoughts even will be nice... :)

and to those who haf been MIA (aka missing in action) for awhile, PLS PLS PLS post something up here... we'll love to hear from u... :) well they probably wun be reading this anyway so anyone with their contacts pls contact them... :P

well a little abt me... haha.. for those who haven't heard from me for a looong looong time itz understandable coz i'm in perth now.... haha.. so u wun see me ard the NUS or NTU campuses anytime soon... maybe some time in january when i crash lectures (kekekeke :P)...

exams for me coming up soon in a couple of weeks time so need to study altho i haven't realli started... haha... u know i suddenly realised how gd a studying environment JC is compared to uni... coz like classes end a month or so before the major exam and u can slog ur guts out during dat time... but in uni... i even haf classes 2 weeks before the exams... which means more stuff to cram in my alreadi stuffed brain... haha... and there's onli 1 week to settle all that stuff in ur brain... so yeah... JC's cool.... :P

gf-wise (i know u guys are itching for it :P), most things are fine.... juz the usual bickering here and there but most things are cool.... if u wanna ask me wat i bicker abt... dun bother... i forgot alreadi... hahaha.. :P i'm sure fish has more to ask (like dat time during the CNY meet) but i'll leave the questions to him.. i wun answer them here... haha... we've no plans for getting married yet if some of u are starting to tink off track.. we dun even tink abt it in fact... haha...

as for plans after exams... my gf's parents as well as my parents are coming over in 2 different waves... so haf to entertain them... my gf, housemate and i are gg over to brisbane for holz.... then driving down to sydney and flying baq from there... still no concrete plans drawn up yet so will let u guys know when i'm baq (sometime late july)... and then second semester starts... -_-;;;

well datz all i haf to say i guess... realli miss home and u guys... hope december comes REAL soon so i can catch up with everybody... and post somemore stuff! nt necessarily abt ur lives... juz any random thing will do i guess... :) anywayz here's a pic of me when i went to do some volunteer work out in a rural town last yr... fwah *blows dust off* this blog has been awfully quiet from erms... quite some time (understatement). so i decided to come sweep away the cobwebs. i was reading my friends blog and she was blogging about her jc class, which seems like a great deal of fun. not trying to be competitive here but hey, i thought our jc days werent too bad either (understatement again). not that im in the mood for nostalgia, plus the next time someone actually read this blog will be what? when someone announces a wedding?

still i reckoned it would be quite nice to catch up and just remininsce the good times when we were young, kuku, and lazy. talking about kuku, i wonder if anyone saw my kuku photos of facebook that limei mercilessly posted. i tried to dig out those photos of us too, but my lappie died and im (proudly) on a new one now, besides, they are probably lost when the old ancient pc at home got reformated again and again. so yeap, i challenge anyone to find even more kuku photos of me and post it here, not of facebook please. the previous hooha from limei got all my aussie friends laughing their heads of alrdy. i still need some friends in my life, so spare me ya?

i realise i kinda still know most of the 03s10a peeps whereabouts and some even pretty well. i know our dear yingheng is going to act in some play soon (thanks to the wh-blogspot), which im really interested to watch but im not in sg. u guys should go support him, i think it would be awesomeness and a breakthrough to his drama-mama-ness. no, seriously, im glad that yingheng is enjoying what he is doing and coming this far.

and fish finally reunited with his friends. okay how cheesy. haha the last time i heard frm him was his birthday (which i have a story to tell abt tee later, see below) and he was happily getting his diving cert from phillippines with his butterfly. but i heard there were hugeass storms but both of them are fine. stop backpacking alrdy, the photos make me so jealous.

ok about the birthday, which tee will never stop harping about. i knew it was tee's birthday and tan's too, I SOMBAH I DIDNT FORGET. but it just didnt occur to me to wish them coz i know they will probably have a good time without my wishes too. as u can see it coming, yes, my lack of well wishes got me into a lifetime of kaopehness by tee. so i decided to learn my lesson and wish fish happy birthday, which obviously got me into a even worse precadiment of kaopehness frm you-know-who. sigh~ what to do, no one can really get enough of me.

OMG i cant believe i havent told u guys yet. PEILING BOUGHT A DRESS FRM CHINA!!! i mean honestly, other than sch uniforms and prom, the only other skirt ive seen her wear is the denim skirt. ok fine that sounds quite a lot to some of u, but compared to me (and my wardrobe) thats nothing. so ya lets force her to wear it the next time we have class outing. she'll be back frm china soonish i think. im sure she will have a lot of funny stories to share, just like how she always does.

ah vid. is in boring perth. haha and he owns a rav-4, which apparently is a big deal for car people. i had to pretend i knew what that was. haha but eventually i found out to be a 4-wheel drive and knowing how a manual car alrdy awe me so much, u can imagine my R.E.S.P.E.C.T. for a FWD. oh im not sure if im allowed to say this, but anyhows i already did, DAVID HAS A GIRLFRIEND!!! haha dig the rest of the goss out frm him yourself :p sorry ah vid, its all for entertainment sake ya.

connie. other than seeing her randomly when i went to ntu the other time. this was the other time i "saw" her.

Hello ya'll! I really felt the LOVE and CLASS SPIRIT yesterday... It was fantastic. If you're wondering about photos and all that kinda crap, you've come to the bloody right place. Give me 24 hours to settle some of the editting (yeah, I can make those white spots disappear) and it'll be done by Sunday morning. It was hilarious. It rocks. I loved every moment. Thanks to all those to turned up, paid so much money (DAMN EX LAR!), and provided much fun and laughter for everyone.

It was great seeing all of you again, especially since I missed the last class thingy! Yeah, a big shoutout to all who managed to make their presence felt - Wee Lee, Jie Yu, T Wei Ge, Jun Qi, David, Yvonne, Connie, Angeline, Puay Leng... and of course Debbie. It was a surprise birthday party for her but me and Jie Yu missed it. Apparently it was exciting and suspenseful! So... yeap! It was a hell lot of fun talking to you guys again - it sort of brought out my bimbotic self! Oops.

We'll meet again real soon yeah, I think CNY will be a really special one. As usual.

jieyu is going to be going to australia the coming monday, and returning on the 6th.

David's going to go to brunei for training and returning on the 2nd or sth. Correct me if I'm wrong, I can't remember everything! Ooh, and he'll be studying his uni in Aussieland.

As for me, I'll be waiting to go to NTU and in the meantime, I'm working at SOny Gallery, Wisma!

How much of you are what you want yourself to be, and how much of you are what others expect of you?

I was discussing it with a friend sometime ago. So I have no idea what the answer might be, or what your views might be. It applies a lot to uni life as opposed to army life. In army, we just do as we're told. Poeple don't really show the true side of themselves especially in my case. We just laze around, and most of them compete to see who's the laziest. Things would've been pretty different if there was some competition and they had to fight for what they wanted or valued. The ugly side of human nature.

There're people around all the time and everyone wants to present a certain side of themselves that is truly them, yet acceptable to the people around. It is difficult to find people to accept you for who you are. All of us strive to look better, to be entertaining, have a good sense of humour etc. Sometimes it even seems that we try too hard.

All this boils down, I suppose, to who we want to be, and how we want others to see us. Any experiences to share?

I think it's bloody cool that we're going to have a class holiday together at the end of the year. I mean, we never even had a stayover or chalet before! So this is kind of like our virgin time staying together! Oops. Okay, so maybe that's a bit much, bit still, I'm very excited that there are plans being made and everything.

Well since the date is more or less confirmed, if you really want to go, your feedback is much appreciated because we ain't doing this for ourselves (ie me and Wee Lee), we are doing this FOR US. The more the merrier. We want you to come lar! I think more people also means ordering more food and saving money yet still enjoying the variety.

My 1st post since 5 million years ago. Sheesh! This place looks like it has just undergone Ice Age... Brrh... So cold, so lonely..... Enough Crap!
I am planning for a holiday in Nov or Dec in KL Jason Khor is coming. Jie Yu says he see 1st. The rest I have no idea.
Should be 3 days 2 nights, if it is not enough than we can get extend further!
I will rent a appartment which will cost very little.'
Most probably we will take bus up. I think around RM30 or less. If I can have my drivers license b4 the trip than we will take a car! Which I think the probability is less than 0.001%. :)
With me around, there should be no problems in language commuinication with the locals, Haha!
I hope a lot of people can come cause it will be a very fun trip.

i'm very sorry to sabrina, weelee and connie who has expressed that they can make it for the 7th instead, coz more people can turn up on the 6th. it was supposed to be a 2 day 1 night outing... that's why the 6th/7th discussion but its not within my ability as yet to plan a 2 day 1 night one in such short time. too ambitious at first. so sorry. >.<

but there's always a next time ne? ^^

weelee had suggested to postpone the outing to Next Saturday instead, but i doubt many would turn up since its the Mother's Day weekend.(remember to get something/do something nice for your mother ^^) and if it was postponed, someone has to take over to plan since i won't be free on that day.

during the previous class outing on Labour Day, it had concluded to be a 2 day 1 night camp at sentosa. whoever who can come on either day just come. but apparently, i doubt anyone would stay over. then...

the reason why we're changing the venue to zoo instead because geraldine and yvonne were having a camp at sentosa until the 5th and they wouldn't want to go sentosa again la... so in consideration of that and peiling said sabrina once suggested going to the zoo. since we never go there before, it'll be fun to go too. ^^ (and i had massive support from sizhen on this idea this afternoon, thanks to sz for helping me check the price) therefore the many round of mass sms of changing venues and dates and everything.

after a hiatus of everyone, i hope we can make the 1st MAY one successful and hope this shall be the appetiser until 6/7th MAY.

to tell the truth, organising class outings is irritating. i'm sure yingheng agrees with me. getting the right dates, thinking of programs(that might suit everyone's preference to a certain extent), fitting everyone's schedule, and making sure everyone gets the notice... there's a long list more. (and especially worrying about all these during exam preparation)

but, i wanna go to a class outing but nobody else is organising other than the usual peeps. so... *whines*

Nowadays, I sometimes have to keep my kitchen windows close. Can your guess why? Cause the yucky birds keep flying into my house in search for their lunch. They not only like to peck at the food that they can find, mess up the dustbin sometimes, but also treat the place as their own personal toilets. Evil birds. yo people... its been a while since we had a nice class outing. and a big scaled one at that. big scaled = hang out the whole day, a relatively lot of people (10 is a good number); instead of just sitting down for a meal la.

me and yingheng have discussed about this and thought that 6th May, Saturday is a good day, since most of us have finished the exams liao and its a good saturday.

david said that he'll be free on Wu Yue Tian (this is too david not to be posted here), which is 1st of May, Labour Day, monday. since its a public holiday i think most people should be quite free right?

especially those in NS, please pick your preference 1st or 6th, whichever is more comfortable since 6th if can got sunday to slack somemore before going back. so 1st is just there for show and 6th is back up.

anyway, for the big scaled class outing i was thinking of probably going to Sentosa to suck some sun since probably the girls all study until bleached liao, that is provided IF it doesn't rain la. (wah lao nowadays rain so much, so many bugs in my room. grr.)

if not we can go for a KBOX outing, and have dinner together that can sit long long and eat long long one. e.g pizza hut, seoul, marina bay, er... any other suggestions? for nice recommendations?

alternatively, we can go out have dinner together and head off to sentosa to watch musical fountain... something we never do before. ^^

talking about something we never do before and big scaled, i had a dream our class were camping at Sentosa. we were sleeping at the towers until the lights off. damn ridiculous but yingheng told me to add this in this entry. come to think of it, we had camps during secondary school and primary school but not in JC.

if we're chased out of the towers we can sleep at the beach/random shelter, just bring mats or sleeping bags can le. coz i tried before... camping at Sentosa at the shelter outside 7-11, can go buy food when hungry in the middle of the night and toilet's nearby. LOL.

so now do give some response in here, or sms me or yingheng if you'll be free on 1st/6th or both days and we'll decide something smashing. XD

heyaz.... realli interesting to see a sudden influx of great entries frm quite a number of ppl.. haha.. well thx to bina who graciously put up an interesting n rather inspirational entry on education in our dear country n even abt the whole idea of education itself.... so since we're still on the topic of education (or am i a little too slow.. hahz.. :P) maybe i'll juz write abt wat i tink abt education n wat i got out of it... maybe nt so much abt how itz like in singapore... but more abt education as a whole...

well i'm nt writing to debunk anyone's case on education... coz i do believe dat everyone is entitled to their own views no matter how strongly i feel abt themn in no way will i impose my views to warp those of others... dis is my disclaimer as well as one of the few principles i adhere to in life.... so if wat i write seems to disagree with ur views in any way... pls bear with me... i realli dun mean to degrade ur beliefs in any way....

well anyway to me... i do appreciate the knowledge gained frm education.. as fish has mentioned in his entry dat knowledge is power... the power to build... to destroy... to edify... to corrupt... but to me... wat i realli value abt education is dat thru education... we can develop a taste for the quest for dat knowledge... as most cliche-ists profess -- itz nt the end dat matters... itz the journey b4 dat matters more... i tink bina has brought dis up strongly in her entry but i muz emphasise dat itz the analytical n applicative skills dat we pick up with learning n the constant refining of those skills dat realli matter the most... datz wat realli makes us learned n essentially wat makes us human....

i do find it a great pity dat the art of philosophy is nt taught in our education system here in singapore.... perhaps it requires too much resources dat would result in too little or even no returns in future... well as they say most if nt all things boil down to money... hahz... well anyway philosophy is realli an art of thought... it teaches us nt onli to recognise knowledge... but also how to deal with it... itz realli an art of refining thought.... the art of logic by connecting truths and knowledge to form something with meaning... or the science in metaphysics which i frankly dun realli subscribe to.. hahz.. :P or the depth in ethics which deals with the veri essence of wat we shld essentially be like as human beings.... n something dat our deteriorating world desperately needs...

aching story

something to share with you guys... A fresh batch of recruits just came to my camp for BMT, within 4 days, I had sent 2 guys to the SAF ward. SAF ward is a psychological ward which houses soldiers who are in " psychological distress ". The first guy who went in was a guy who was admitted due to suicide intent, who was obviously a " kengster ", he told me that this place was " shiok" like chalet like that. I felt like giving him 1 tight slap! there was the other guy, who had depression and was " zi bi". He kept bowing his head down, and when you ask him anything, he will say "i dont know" in chinese and keep staring at the floor. I think after the 3 rd day, he started to not speak at all and after 48hrs, i was told to sent him to the SAF ward at Alexendra hospital. upon reaching there, we were told to wait for the doc, in the meantime, me and his commander tried talking sense onto him for 3 hours, non-stop! because i heard from the medics there that the doc may sent him to woodbridge. I tried to get him to talk so that the doc will know what is his problem but to no avail. Than his father came, I talk to him, as we talk, i saw that at the corner of his eyes, tears were welling up and he started to choke on his words. The guy lost his mother at a young age and his father is supporting a whole family of 5 ppl and he is earning quite little. To see his son in such a condition, it wrenches his heart+ mine too. I felt very sorry for the father and helpless at the same time that i cannot do anything more to comfort the father. After that i felt so lucky that i have a nice family.

Sometimes it takes a little reminder to realised that you are actually very blessed to have your family members around you, and that things that you take for granted seem so significant when you lost it. i hope that you guys would treasure your family and friends and that no painful lesson is needed to remind you of it!

I guess if anyone wants to see what education gives, we juz need to look at what bina and tee typed... contrasting it maybe, it's views that comes when someone is educated. Be it through books or through life, education comes in many forms... and we all will one day realise out limits in the world of academics, it's not the end of e route. It's juz the beginning of another.

I'm not going to discuss much abt what they typed..i'm jzu going to pur my thoughts out..in this early wee hours of 0310. Knowledge... to me is Power... i see knowledge as power. Which is why pple crave knowledge. By knowing more, they "know" e way to go, the things to do, the "right" choice. At least the choice that is right to them. Education will fail if fails to impart values. More than often, education as focus solely on knowledge, i mean knowledge in the quatitative side of life. White collar crimes are definately not to due to the lack of knowledge, but rather to a lack of values. It hurts me to see a knowledgable person, heading down the path of crimes due to a lack of moral intergrity. The years of education had done nothing but to put the power to destroy himself in his own hands. Education have done him no good, and that he wld be better off as an uneduated farmer in the rural areas, living a simple life.

I think we have all been trying too hard to do well academically. Till a point that sometimes we can try every trick in e book to do "well" academically. Here I am... writing abt this, i feel rather guilty... guilty because i do not know how to say no.. yes how to say no..to a friend who ask me to help her type an assignment. No, not juz to edit, but to do an assignment. The way that she goes..." when the topic was given, the first thing i thought abt is you. Coz i rmb u wrote something similiar" It didn't strike me as a compliment that I was engaged to help, but it rather make me feel sad... sad that someone in the higher level of education can actually have so little pride in their own work.

It set me thinking, thinking abt myself. I guess I went down this road too, the road of copying homework just to make sure that I completed it. Perhaps, that why i never love maths, becoz i have nver prided myself in completing my own assignments. In that one or two times that I did it all by myself, i felt a sense of satisfaction, but that wasn't stronger than e need to finish the work to avoid punishment. Come to think of it...i feel ashame of myself now... coz i copied work... i wasn't proud of my own work... and i realli regretted doing such a thing in the past. But I dare say that I have never at least consciously, asked someone else to do my assignment and claim it to be mine.

I dunnoe how many pple are doin it now... when i told Khor, he told me amny pple in uni do that... tat's kinda of sad... perhaps in this quest for knowledge, or in this quest to attain the honours, we have lost our moral compass somewhere. The integrity..... somebody once said, integrity won't feed you. I borrowed it and said it a few times... perhaps it's true..but izzit that worthless? I guess it's not for me to judge....

Breaking away from all this crap shit.... i'm GOING into ORDing mood...i'm so looking forward to finishing my national service... I think it have given me something, putting things into perspective for me. It has taken much from me too, but that's only fair..i guess... and now for something even mroe lighthearted... i think I got the STEAL of the month...haha... thanks to mr Khor who convince me tat it is... and I have not regretted it ever since i bought my new WALLET...haha...

Wow, finally a more serious tone has set in in this blog.
Kinda inspiring i should say.
"The only thing that cannot be stolen from you is knowledge. If it does, you are already dead."
I have very contradictory views about this.
In my view, there are two points of focus in the sentence. One is "only", the other is "stolen".
"Only" being an absolute and "stolen" being so strong. When both are placed together, it gives this very solemn kind of feeling to me.
While i believe that knowledge is something that cannot be stolen but being the only thing?
Without any doubts, I think this statement is a great motivation for one to pursue knowledge. But is knowledge a derivative of something greater, stronger? Like passion?
Passion to move forward, to succeed, to overcome.
Passion to learn, to retain, to renew.
That is passion in this aspect.
If knowledge can be stored, it must have been dealt with a great deal of determination and (pardon me)passion.
We have strived for details, facts, skills for the past 20 years and im quite sure we have lost some of them. Skills we may have not but nonetheless i believe that they can be stolen from us by time and arrogance in some cases.
Maybe we should view the issue in a more optimistic way.
The ones that are not being able to be stolen can be considered as knowledge?
Wisdom do not actually have to be attributed solely to academic, skill efficency or physical strength.
Wisdom, knowledge, virtues and their true meanings are so vague in this vast space.
Life.
Maybe, just maybe it matters in a more personal charisma. Knowledgable anot, we leave it to the consequences to decide.
Yet we have to take into account that the lives that are led are not by others or by the situation but rather by the one living it.

Hey Deb,
I hope you do read this blog cos I've just thought of a very good and convincing answer to my question of "Why are we studying?!!?" in NYJC. Remember I always asked you that question whenever we walked up the steps from the old canteen towards our classrooms. It just came to me yesterday as i was gonna sleep after i read that book on Latifa-the Afghan girl during the Taliban era. It's a really good book and very touching story..

Well anyway, it made me realise that the problem with our demoralised state towards studies is due to the fact that education has been forced upon some of us since young. I say some because there're ppl who have this natural inclination towards studies from young...most prob due to encouraging upbringing. Since primary school, we were studying science, maths, english, chinese..blah blah. Then in sec, even MORE subjects... Ah..and then in JC, even more details in subjects. Well..the most constantly told reason to us by our parents is that studying is for your future. You have to study, get good degree and then find a good job. Yes, I agree with them, but they are only partially right.

Studying IS for your future, but it is not the degree and jobs that are the most important. At least not for us now, since we are all not in absolute state of poverty. Degree was important in the past because few ppl had the means to obtain higher education and hence the status it gives. And so the thing is that it is actually the PROCESS of obtaining knowledge that is the most important. Because you see, in the process of gaining knowledge, you grow and mature in thoughts. You gain analytical, applicative skills and more, never mind that the stuffs you learn may not be relevant for your future. Not only that, I have found to my utter amazement, a sentence quoted from the late and respected Rajaratnam and also a similar one from Jesus( though i am not a Christian, I was reading the New Testimony one night) that struck me as very true. It sort of goes like "The only thing that cannot be stolen from you is knowledge. If it does, you are already dead." ...Which goes to say that whatever money or material stuffs that you earned can be stolen or lost. The only thing that cannot be stolen from you is wat you have stored in your brain. How true.

Now, back to my point on education being forced upon us. I daresay that Singapore's education system is in such a rigid structure that we are not allowed so much as to breathe or sit back and digest the concepts before moving on. To me, it seems like senseless words, numbers and formulas were being thrown rapidly at us before we could catch them. No, the system cannot and does not cater to everyone, which could be the reason for the increasing number of suicidal incidents in schools (even in Primary Sch!). To phrase it in an uglier manner, it is like the 'Survivor-school' where only the smartest survives.

The method of force, though for our own good, has rebouncing effect. It makes us hate studying. To show this, we shall travel back in time and look at the poverty stricken ppl during the kampong years. The children are born as cheap labourers to help in the farm..some are sold as goods (think Memoirs of Geisha) to earn extra cash. Those who are sufficiently well-to-do, can afford to send their children to schools. In these situation, some children would much rather have the luxury of studying than to labour under the hot sun. I never understood why they would choose the latter until I found out that education was a way for them to break free of poverty and more importantly, for women to gain their rights in a male dominated world. Women who are uneducated were dependent on men for survival. It was only through education that women were able to fight for their freedom and get out of the homes to work and be financially independent. Hence when education is supposedly out of reach, you crave and strive for it. However, when it's dangling infront of you everyday, you grow sick of it.

So, as to why are we studying, we are studying because the process of it helps us grow. The main reason as to why that question was asked wasn't to find out what jobs we'll get. But rather, it is how we should view the present and our attitude towards the intimidating pile of books that matter. Reading the books isn't about scoring for exams, but to gain knowledge. Knowledge that stays with you till you die. It's priceless. However encouragements and intriguing questions that trigger interest in certain topics are certainly important factors to ensure self-motivation in studies.

I hope this has helped and inspired you guys in what you are doing now..

Anyway, seeing the very un-selfish person that I am, I asked her to write something nice for the class in case ya'll don't have time to visit her... and she did:

In case you guys don't know (probably I was the only one), she's pregnant and due to deliver on the 3rd of June! We just might be able to go to her house when her baby is one month old. Our class never had the chance to go over to her house before, so it's ABOUT TIME!

A movie marathon of 3 movies at Ming Boon's house (haven't asked for permission) on the 4th of March, Saturday. Only VCDs can be played because the downstairs huge TV doesn't have a DVD player. Arhm. Along the course of this week and next , we will POLL which movies to view on that day. The gathering will start approximately at 4PM at her house. First movie 1630 to 1830, followed by second movie 1830 to 2030. We'll break for dinner (order Pizza Hut/KFC) before going on to our last movie 2100- 2300. These are the projected timings.

The general movie genres are as follows - 1st movie, Chinese Movie/Korean Movie. 2nd movie, bimbotic and light, comedy. 3rd movie - Blockbuster/Action.

Jie Yu, TWJ and I were rather early yesterday so we went to the Burger King at Terminal 2. I took a hell long time to finish my burger (about 1.5 hours or so) because after about 40 minutes, everyone started coming in. It was bloody cool that all of a sudden, one corner of BK was flooded with 03S10Aians. Yvonne came, and then Jun Qi followed by Si Zhen, Har Har, Puay Leng, David, Ming Boon, Sabrina and Connie. The last to turn up was Wee Lee! I hope I didn't miss anybody out there! Anyway, it was great to see all of them again and we started chatting about tonnes of stuff. Highlights include some Psychology textbook, Economics, Men's Health, me calling David a guy's guy (!!!), and a very cold line by Jun Qi which made us all fall off the chair.

Puay Leng reacted to a situation by saying, "Shou Bu Liao!" meaning, "I can't stand it!" And guess what Jun Qi said? "Shou bu liao jiu qu jian fei zhong xin!" (If you can't slim down then visit a slimming center!)

And this is the effort put in by Ming Boon, with contribution by David using my fantastic idea! Okay, so it isn't very original because lately I've been "sentimental" (to quote Terence), so to create emotional impace, I've been thinking about using graphics, which MBies is so pro at doing. Not forgetting our advisor David, who changed the font of Bon Voyage and also pointed out that TWJ's name was spelt wrongly (which she blatantly left unchanged). Oh yeah, and everyone did their part and wrote a nice message for her. Arhm, it's not worth as much as Tiffany and Co's but it's the thought and effort that counts right!

We sat at BK and chatted till the cows came home and before we knew it, it was 10+ PM already! Being the smart guy that I was, I went to recce and found that she was going in at Rows 7 & 8. Thus, I went back and got everyone to troop down to the place. To quote Yvonne, there were many colonies of ~~bacteria~~ people, waiting around there to say their goodbyes to family and friends.

It took quite awhile before Angeline Tan made her grand appearance in front of us. Pek Har presented her with the card on our behalf, as we decided earlier due to the fact that she was our J2 class rep!

Angeline was a bundle of energy as usual, and I suppose it only compounded the level of excitement for her when she dashed around to talk to the people who came (her very own "Amazing Race" to quote David).

We stood there for some time and saw many familiar faces, like people from the council. Her family, primary schoolmates and secondary schoolmates and best friends were there too. Anyway, we took a class photo (what's a gathering without a class photo), by one of her... relatives? who was using an SLK (right Bert?). Of course, we also used my digicam, which was kind of weird. It was as if there was a face-off with the bigger and better camera. Well, the only one that anyone'll get to see for quite awhile...

... is this one! Haha! Though there were other more powerful cameras around (like Jie Yu's LUMIX!), but only when it's taken with my camera that everyone'll get to see the photo ASAP because I bother to upload!

After that when we were about to go, we had a rather hilarious session to say goodbye. All of us stood in a line (kind of like criminals) and told her that we were going off. So she hugged each of us (LOL at Connie trying to get hug in front of her turn!) as we said goodbye and wished her all the best for her studies in Brisbane. She's studying Speech Therapy by the way.

After that we had a photo-taking spree (with tonnes more available on Jie Yu and Jun Qi's camera), and this is one of the guys. We tried desperately to make it not have the classic look of the one we took during Chinese New Year which resulted in other hilarious consequences. I don't know what hand sign I was putting up (it was supposed to be an energetically clutched punch-fist-into-air), but maybe it'll gain popularity and everyone'll start using it before long.

Anyway, with the cam-whoring came a sudden memory of a photo which TWJ and I took in the August of 2004!

Which of course led to a re-enactment of the moment. I think we've both grown and look pretty different in the space of two years.

Or is it just my cheapo camera versus this new one? Anyway, we had Swensons after that, but all the girls left except for Ming Boon and Sabrina. I treated them to an Earthquake (but David and Wee Lee stashed me some money!). The company was great - how we all squeezed together to enjoy our ice-cream. A very unforgottable moment. After that we rushed to take the bus. Sabrina and Jun Qi's bus came first. While waiting for our bus, we tried to sing a bit of Hua Yuan Chia, and failed. Practise! And then Wee Lee and I left in 858. Chatted to him on the bus in my half-asleep state. I was surprised I sounded coherent (to myself at least!), and reached my void deck at about 1250AM!

Alright guys.. sorry for e late late late late entry..... Been a bit down for the past month.. So soory 4 not writing anything.....
Its been 1 year already since we graduated from school. Everyone has changed, more or less. But i am glad that one thing that has not change- we treasure the bond that has held us together since 2003. I can see that by the ''remarkable'' attendence at MB's house, which I think should be voted for the most ppl attending outing for our 3 yrs! Yes, i miss the old school days but life must still go on. We each have our own paths to follow, dreams to fulfill but if there's one thing that we should not forget even if we get the dreaded alzhmeir disease( isit spelt this way?), that there was ever a class called 03s10a and you were part of the ''jigsaw puzzzle'' also called 03s10a.
Enough mushiness....
Mi and yh have decided that we shall oragnise a trip to KL which should be held soon after our ORD dates(NOV). It should be a shopping trip. For accomodation,i think i have some appartment to stay which should help cut cost greatly + you will have someone who speaks malay, ME! Any one who is interested can drop me a msg or yh. I need to book by june cause, its is going to be very hard to book after that. Just telling so that you can get prepared, save $ or something....

ok im late but here i come. cny is my favourite festival, after xmas and my own birthday which isnt really a festival. to start off my entry, i would like to apologise to fish. i really really (x100) didnt mean to pangseh u. i honestly thought its tue coz of the chu ER, yingheng and peiling can vouch. sombah, cross my heart and hope to die. really, like sombah. i even forgot peiling's uno cards as a result.

i enjoyed the meal a lot, my personal favourites being hotdogs, bbq chicken cutlet and fried spicy beef. i love mb and her mum, so hospitable. i thought they were great host, im sure the rest agree.

i had much priviledge to mingle with most of the classmates except some *coughs*yinghengandweelee*coughs* who came late, so late that i was about to go. i had dinner at home that night. it was nice catching up and i conclude that david and junqi is really a deadly combo. future gathering chairperson please take note and take extra care to make sure they are separated.

yesh as MANY has mentioned, i had to leave early so we had early class photos, yes its ME. my fault, blahs. anyway i really thought it was nice to see some rare guests that night, like connie, junqi, geraldine. i havent seen junqi and geraldine since wat, collection of results? and connie? always accidentally in town.

connie- u are always busy but its ok. i understand that u have other commitments and stuffs. this will make ur head like really big, but i do enjoy ur company. full of crap but nv fails to crack me up.

david- u are the kind of friend that i will never lose. u take the effort to ask me out, catch up, have dinner and stuffs. however im truly apologetic that i almost always turn u down. u always catch me on a bad time but i really appreciate that effort, thanks. may u be highly favoured.

debbie- i mish u. where on bloody earth are u? i think u are very chic and cool. u don an attitude, not just clothes. zegnaro i still remember. hehe its been long since we met, catch u soon?

Thx MBies for posting up the pics! Alright this entry is to respond to the current topic "Wassup this Chinese New Year?" Well, what could it be? Of course our class gathering lah~!! It's great to have a CNY gathering for 2 consecutive yrs, n may this form of class gathering continues until we got older n have our children! Imagine each of us bringing abt 2 children in the future.. MBies' hse will get so crowded n noisy!! N we've to prepare so many ang pows! Lolz..

I had a gd time during our CNY gathering. Everybody still looked happy n fun, n definitely more mature. It brought back many wonderful memories which we had shared during NYJC days, such as having lunch tgt n cracking jokes. MBies, I think I've fallen in luv with ur masssaging chair!! Lolz.. I'll make sure I'll sit on it every time I visit ur hse.. wahahaha.. oh then I saw many of our NYJC pics in ur notebk tt day. I felt so tempted to take all of them! Pls send them to me over MSN okie? This yr's CNY is more special to me. Coz it's the first time I ever had reunion dinner with my bf's family n my bf having reunion dinner at my hse. N we went over to each other's hse to visit during CNY. The feeling was rather paiseh ( u get wat I mean?) coz it feels as if we r exposing our partner to my relatives. Some of my relatives asked my mum "who's that guy sitting beside Kherray". And furthermore, I'm only turning 20 this yr so it's kinda a bit too early to expose my bf compared to my bro n cousins who r in their late 20s (marriagable age). I can't express how wonderfully delighted to David (FINE, I'LL BUY YOU LUNCH) and Har Har. It means a lot to ME and of course the class that you guys updated something nice for everyone to look back upon.

yesh yesh ya peepadoos.... if u haf nt read the entry frm an yingheng below... i've been so "nicely" granted the realli "exhilarating" task of writing an entry... and having pics in the entry for the veri first time! *gasp* pls do contain ur "excitement" n slowly wait for me to figure out how to write all this stuff out... hahz..

well as most if nt all those who're reading this... we juz had our class gathering/steamboat/gambling session at mb's place last nite (last nite being 30/1).. had realli great food both poached n eh.. teppanyaki-ed courtesy of mb n mom... the soup waz great... but yeah... enuff abt the food... itz getting us... or at least me all hungry again.... so whilst the late

well... after the dinner yh, jq n i went up to mb's room to look-see... so there we were... jq n i juz looking ard the place while yh was outright ogling over the sheer jayness of the room... taking pictures like a jap tourist... yes... but veri soon he was having free lessons frm mb on photoshop... n veri soon jq waz lost n i waz sucked in... but nt long after dat yh made me do the learning for him while he got distracted... yes... i've got evidence... rite here:

mb is juz... crazy... juz anyhow doodle here n there on photshop then some cool looking thingie comes out... juz mind boogling... ok... so after we're done we went down again coz mb wanted to play some.... eh... something... so meanwhile i checked out the cool massage chair dat i used last yr...

haha.. dunno wat kinda expression is dat... but yeah... the massage chair waz still as gd.. haha... n as usual... gera n ray were trying their most torturous massage chair setting concoctions on me again.... but still waz alrite larz... dunno y so many ppl were so high when sitting on the chair... i guess i onli haf bones... no muscles to tickle.. haha...

well yeah... nt too long after dat we took realli cool artsy photos outside mb's place... n we went baq home after dat.. while most of the guyz stayed baq awhile longer... hahz... i sortof pang seh-ed them... but oh well... hehz..

... ENJOYED the recent class outing at Ming Boon's house! I had a hell of a time and can't wait for any excuse to do something like this again. Haha. Anyways, I kind of thought of an idea. I know you guys are eagerly anticipating the photos, but this time, I've sent four photos each to PEK HAR, WEE LEE, GERALDINE and ANGELINE. (DAVID too!) They'll be in-charge of writing a nice short thing-a-ling about the class entry and then posting the photos! upon seeing all the entries of u peeps looking back at our short-lived jc days, im finally making an attempt to put my thoughts into words here.. simply cos i have enjoyed my days in nyjc as well, and i will be doing injustice to those who love the class and bothered to type if i just kept my share to myself.. i miss...

the times when we rush down to the canteen to queue for "pataya"...

those early mornings at the benches outside lt at the new building, next to the running track. that's where i usually wait for ah har to come and let me copy her work sometimes.

those early mornings at quadrangle... the school was so dark.. i think i was always the first 5 ppl to reach sch... i felt like i had the whole sch to myself.

the "chang2 chen2"... in the really early mornings like 6.15am i wld hav to walk up chang2 chen2 in darkness.. as in really dark lor.. only lighting to be coming from nearby void deck... quite creepy

the indian toilet cleaner.. haha... e one hu likes to scold scold scold in tamil.. until now still duno what she scolding.. there was once she actually smiled at me can.. i can see her teeth!! i almost wanted to go buy 4D on dat day..

there are still a lot more... i duno if i had mentioned it before.. but i was actually very depressed abt coming to nyjc in the first few days of yr1.. nanyang jc... what is dat??!! in my sec sch, few ppl know abt dis... vj, tj, rj was wat most of us knew.. i even almost went to a poly for the optometrist course if not for my mum who made me include a nearby jc at first choice, just to try my luck. i must say im damn lucky, to have experienced much more than i expected in ny. if i can, i'll really like to go bac to my sec sch to let the juniors know more about dis place. its not always about academics.. its about the people and culture.. to me, nyjc has a lot more ren2 qing2 wei4..

The final outing before the guys enlisted for army. Well, me at least! This was my hair at its longest! But ugly lar. Remember that day we went to have pizza hut? Yepz. And this was taken outside the cinema place.

I've got a few more photos of us in our dear JC lives, but if you want to know where most of them are... they are with MING BOON, ANGELINE and T WEI JIE. At least I think so. And Sabrina maybe. All I know is I have a databank of our class photos which I had to beg, borrow and steal so that under such conditions, I'm able to REVEAL some photos you haven't seen in a very long time! Haha... whenever I get more stuff I'll come here and update you guys. So keep coming back.

Arhm, thank you Angeline for making the effort to write a real entry. I was quite touched when I read it and I totally agree that we may not be the very very very best kind of friends but you know there's a group of people out there who still care for you and want to know what you're up to in life. It's a great feeling. There're people who cherish the moments that we have together and all. I'll go Australia and look for you if I can. And I'm sure others would want to as well.

ok its me. as u know, im not an especially mushy person. i dont go round telling people how much i love them and how thankful i am for having them in my life. i use to think that they already know and that theres no need for me to tell. however these days, i find myself doing it a lot, as in telling my loved ones that they are my loved ones. my friend, who is also going abroad, is behaving like that too. she says we are lucky because we dont have to wait till we are at our deathbeds to let those around us know how much we love them. honestly if it werent for the fact that im flying off this sunny island in less than a month's time, im quite sure i wun cherish my family and friends. likewise i wont say how i really feel about them. so if u dont know yet, i love u peeps too.

03S10A has been a huge portion of my jc life. we were almost always hanging out together; mugging, ponning, suffering pe lessons, bathing etcetc. as much as i hated econs (and i really hate it) im glad that i took it up, coz if i din i know i wont be in this fabulous class. we may not be the best of friends but we always bond and click no matter how long we have been apart. the very fact that each of us try our best to attend gatherings and check out one another's updates shows that we are genuine friends and i mean genuine. we accept one another for who we are. the sole existence of this blog goes to show that we are not just classmates, we are friends. very often i find myself thinking back the fun times we had in school and naturally, almost like innate, i smile, from the bottom of my heart. no doubt we all had closer friends and other commitments, but 03S10A has always been a part of my life journey that im proud and very very glad to be in. for all those loving memories that each of u left for me, thank you very much.

Arhm. I have 4 minutes. I'll see how fast and much I can type given this time frame.

First and foremost, we have 7 freaking days till we celebrate CNY together at Ming Boon's house. I don't know how hyped up about it you guys are but I AM. I haven't been to her house EVER in my life. I want to go there to get ANG BAO, eat the great food, play mahjong, watch Jay on DVD and just soak in the company of my good friends again!

You know I mean it.

Also, I can't wait to work out my new digital camera. Okay, so it isn't really new, but it was given to me. It's much better than my old one though and so, with this new weapon, you guys can expect to see a lot of photos up on THIS BLOG, to add a little colour, life, and lots of SMILES.

Highlights of the CNY gathering includes getting to see MB, whom I have not seen since the release of Jay Chou's album, as well as Angeline in a school uniform. Oops, did I say in A school uniform? I meant in THE NYJC school uniform. Now, I bet that's a sight you haven't seen in a year plus plus yes? So I demand everyone turn up just to see whether Angeline looks any different in the school uniform than she did last time. THEN AGAIN, it is kinda weird to wear the school u and play mahjong at the same time. Gambling and the innocence of school life DON'T GO TOGETHER. Nevertheless, don't let it stop you!

Haha... yeah, CNY is a time for gatherings, food, happiness, and basically just immersing in the bliss that of having the people who mean something to you, being around you.

I can't wait to see all of you AGAIN, with a big ANG-BAO-induced smile on your face.

As for 10th of Febuary (I think I've repeated this so many times, I'm more naggy than the NKF's pleas for donations when they were still allowed to ask for 'em!), David and I will co-organise the thingy. It's not a sah-bo and he just made it look like I threw the task to him. Eh... do I look so irresponsible to you? :P Anyway, it's David's first time, so why not give him a round applause for encouragement? *applause*

i just came back from kherray's performance at phunk bar. me weelee, cons, shuwen and nina were having a mohd sultan excursion looking for the place. XD but all the walking-thru-the-mud was worth it as raye and her two fellow singers did quite a number of songs. (and she did great on her solo!)

Anyway, I'm going to a jeep course for 5 weeks and it's highly probable that I will be staying OUT. That'll be the 5 weeks of my entire 2 years that I can go home everyday. So it's fantastic really. But that'll only mean I will be spending more MONEY on transport and food. *disgusted* Feel free to call me out on a weekday night then! Haha...

It's quite lonely not having a girlfriend, but when I want to call my friends out, I wonder if I'll be boring/troubling them. :P

Performance @ Phunk Bar on Tuesday Night

I'll be singing at Phunk Bar at Mohammed Sultan Rd on 17 Jan (Tuesday) in the evening at 7pm. I'll be performing with 2 other singers, and we would really need ur kind support for the event as there'll be media coverage and important figures from renowned recording companies going down to watch the event. We'll need as many supporters as possible as a popularity poll will be conducted secretly to see how well-liked we are. So we really need ur support on that night! Do ask ur frenz to go along too! Apart from our singing performance, there will also be a fashion show and a singing competition. Tickets are sold at $18 for ladies, and $20 for gentlemen. It comes along with a free non-alcoholic drink (since the event is opened for 16-yr-old & above).

We had a pretty enjoyable K Lunch so I guess it's pretty much a success. Thank you ALL for turning up. Every SINGLE one of you. Yvonne, Si Zhen, Pek Har, Puay Leng, Wee Lee, Angeline, TWJ, David and Sabrina. I hope you all had a fab time, because I surely did. We've really outdone ourselves with the number of songs we sang. I know I should've gotten a bigger and more luxurious room, especially since we squeezed 10 into an 8-sitter room, but I wasn't very sure who was coming and whether they'd make it.

Full of memorable moments, TWJ's singing of Hokkien songs and in the process showing off his proficiency in Hokkien (arhm), singing the very popular songs (did I mention I have fab taste and had S.H.E.'s Re Dai Yu Lin and Superstar which were performed that night during the charity show. Genius.), Angeline's patience in impatiently waiting for her turn to sing, David's PERFROMANCE to K Ge Zi Wang (which I have to edit the photo SEVERELY to get Eason's face out on the TV screen)... ...

... ...and the many Wu Yue Tian songs, Si Zhen laughing and covering her face at the funniest stuff, Pek Har's singing which gotten a huge response from Angeline :P, me and Yvonne bobbing along to the er... bimbo songs, Puay Leng's very nice singing of Tian Kong and the other one to which I like but can't remember the name and me and Wee Lee's attempt to reach Jay (and Lee Hom's) blardee high notes AND FAILING, and our LAUGHABLE attempts at Shan Hu Hai and just seeing everyone enjoy themselves so much.

If you guys are really enthused about it, we can have another K session down the line, probably in early March.

Anyhow, keep yourselves FREE to meet up again at MB's place during the heat of Chinese New Year and also 10th Feb (FRIDAY) to send Angeline to Brisbane (correct place right? Not Melbourne or Sidney. Okay. Australia.). I know it sounds very repeitive of me; take it as a brainwash scam so we can meet up with each other again. :)

Okay, it's been a long time since someone posted stuff other than dear fish and mingboon and so I'm delighted that they are still using the blog, and that it hasn't become absolutely redundant yet!

There's nothing up with me recently other than the fact that I'm having a fever now, but have guard duty tomorrow. I got 120 bucks to do it, so no matter what, I'll hang in there, grit my teeth and prowl. I've drunk plenty of water already, so I hope I'll recover by 525 tomorrow!

hello guys! i'm back from shanghai. first off, a happy new year, and hope you guys have had a great New Year countdown and kick off so far. *ignores the whines of the army guys*

despite the many attempts of having a class outing, i'm still going to do this, like every year so far since... J2?

i'm opening my house for a CNY 03S10A steamboat + mahjong + daidee/vcd-watching(bring yourselves) gathering during the 2nd/3rd day of CNY like before. :)

its hard to book everyone on ONE day, so i'm putting this forward in advance. you guys have a month (or less) to decide or make yourselves available! i duno when is CNY's actual date though... i shall just name it on the 2nd/3rd day gathering. you'll know when it arrives. let me know ya? ^^

P.S. it will NOT be cancelled even if 2 or 3 people come. i mean 3+1 of me, can still play mahjong.

it felt odd, you know. i thought of waking up to get dressed in the NY uniform when i heard my sister using the toilet at 6+am in the morning. i still miss school, as in school with the uniform kind.

i mean... its a new year! its usually a fresh new start. a new start to me would be meaning taking out the crisp untouched for 2 months uniform from the cupboard... and wearing it in our half-drowsy state and brushing teeth haphazardly coz you haven't gotten up so early for months. going to school and seeing those missed and familiar faces and hearing the national anthem boom in your ears while you try not to fall asleep. okay, maybe not. i'm usually there when the national anthem ends. come to think of it, i haven't heard tha national anthem for so long.

hm... NUS's term doesn't start until 9th, so i will be bumming around at home in the meantime, despite my diarrhoea and indisgestion from shanghai food overload. NUS doesn't feel like a school, and somehow i don't really look forward to going back.

i missed uniformed schooling days. i bet you do too, no matter how stressful, sucky or conforming it was.

and to the first person in the class to reach the age of 20s...

Haha, oh well, the new year is coming up so does anyone have any new resolutions or something that they'd like to share? My new year resolution for the class is to have at least 4 outings in the coming year.
